A simple walk with your child can have some really amazing benefits. Here are just a few:
Walking is good exercise. It gets you out of your home and into fresh air and a change of scenery.
Walking is free! And all ages can be included. You need nothing other than a pair of comfortable shoes to get out there and start moving.
Walking is a wonderful opportunity to connect with your child. Chat with them, search for things, point things out. There are no rules, just make it fun for everyone by being in the moment. Tuck your phone away and talk about what you see.
Walking is great for your mental health. It reduces stress and is technology free!
Bonus - Outdoor activities seem to be successful in reducing symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), according to a study published in the American Journal of Public Health.
