Is your 7 months old drooling more than usual this week? Mouthing everything or more irritable than normal? Eating and sleeping changes? A common culprit may be teething. Those tiny little razon sharp teeth are trying to poke their way through and they can definitely cause pain. Here are a few tips to help soothe the pain:

• Massage your baby's gums with your clean finger. If your hands are cold even better, you can always run it under cold water before.

  
  

• Try a chilled teether or pacifier (refrigerate- do not freeze)

• If your child is already eating solid food, try it chilled. Store some in the fridge so you are ready to go when you need it.

• Try a teething biscuit.

• Distract them- sing their favorite song, pull out a favorite toy, take their mind away from their teeth!

REMINDER* Stay close while your baby is eating or using a teether, and choose a teething toy that is safe, non toxic, and made of a firm rubber.
